
The Client: PortWise
The Requirement
PortWise is a rapidly growing software company with the vision of becoming the leading vendor of products for secure remote access. Infosecurity Europe is the most important tradeshow that they attend annually.
With less than 2 months to go until the tradeshow, PortWise instructed plan-b-marketing to organise and manage their attendance at the event. At the time, they had only booked the stand space and no other arrangements had been made.
PortWise wanted to use the event as an opportunity to generate a large quantity of leads, demonstrate their product, make on-stand presentations and show that they were a significant player in the industry but they only had a very limited budget to spend on the event.
The Solution
PortWise had booked a 30m2 (5m X 6m) space-only stand so to ensure that their stand had a professional appearance but remained within budget (under £5k), plan-b-marketing used on-site contractors to design a modified shell scheme in PortWise’ branding. A carefully planned layout enabled them to have a presentation area with seating, a reception desk, a secure storage area and a demo pod as requested.

As the stand was located towards the back of the hall it was going to be important to drive people to the stand and make it easy for the PortWise team to collect leads. A lead card was therefore developed that could be handed out and left with people for self-completion. An entry into a draw for an ipod was used to incentivise people to complete the questions and return the postcard.
plan-b-marketing also organised the stand manning schedule, issued comprehensive joining-instructions for the team and managed the development and provision of collateral and graphics boards.
The Success
The stand was completed on time and within budget and remained busy throughout the event enabling PortWise to make many on-stand presentations and demos. The use of the lead cards meant that PortWise was able to obtain over 800 leads with basic qualification information that enabled the sales people to quickly sort through the leads and prioritise call-outs.
